Intertelecom Ukraine is the largest CDMA mobile operator in Ukraine, providing voice and data services based on CDMA2000 technologies in the 800 MHz frequency band. The operator has a significant subscriber base, with over 1.4 million mobile users as of February 2024. Intertelecom operates under the MCC MNC code 25504, indicating its mobile network coverage and services.
Historically, Intertelecom has been a major player in Ukraine's telecommunications market, offering a wide range of services including mobile services, fixed connections, international telecommunications, and 3G internet access using CDMA EVDO Rev.A and CDMA EVDO Rev.B technologies. The company has implemented various initiatives, such as the first program for installing telephones and internet in rural areas, enhancing wireless internet access and telephony as alternatives to wired connections.
However, Intertelecom has announced a gradual shutdown of its CDMA-based wireless services. By November 2021, the operator ceased CDMA mobile internet access and fixed broadband access in 13 regions of Ukraine, leaving Odessa as the only region with access to CDMA-based voice and data services. This transition indicates a shift towards VoIP-based SIP services in other regions.
