Andorra's mobile network is operated exclusively by the national telecommunications company, Andorra Telecom (STA). The country has a modern telephone system with microwave radio relay connections between exchanges. Initially, Andorra shared the country code of France (+33) and had a special routing code for calls from Spain, but it now has its own country calling code, 376.

Historically, the first commercial radio station to broadcast in Andorra was Radio Andorra, which was active from 1939 to 1981. In 1989, the General Council established radio and television as essential public services, creating the entity ORTA, which later became the public company Ràdio i Televisió d'Andorra (RTVA) in 2000. The public radio, Radio Nacional d'Andorra, was founded in 1990. Andorra Televisió, the national public television network, was created in 1995.

Andorra Telecom provides mobile, fixed-line telephone, and internet services. The company has been responsible for offering modern communication tools and improving the telecommunications system throughout the country. The internet access was first provided in the 1990s by dial-up, which has since been mostly replaced by ADSL and fibre to the home (FTTH) in metropolitan areas. The country aimed to have fibre-optic connectivity to all homes by 2010, and this goal was achieved by June 2012, although the actual available bandwidth to the end user never exceeds 10 Mbit/s.
