Econet Burundi, formerly known as Spacetel Burundi, is the largest mobile carrier operating in Burundi. It is a fully owned subsidiary of Econet Wireless Africa, which itself is a subsidiary of the global telecoms giant Econet. Econet Wireless Africa acquired Spacetel Burundi in October 2014 from Global Telecom Holding.
