Check device compatibilityBhutan's mobile network has undergone significant development since its introduction in 2003. The country's first mobile service was launched by Bhutan Telecom Limited (BTL) in 2003, followed by Tashi InfoComm Limited (TICL) in 2008. TICL achieved nationwide 2G coverage in 2012 and expanded to 3G in 2015. BTL also introduced 4G services in 2013, which were later expanded to all districts by TICL in 2018. Today, both BTL and TICL provide comprehensive mobile services, including GSM, UMTS, HSDPA, LTE, and international roaming. The mobile network covers 100% of the country, ensuring connectivity throughout Bhutan.
