Uganda Telecom (UTel) is a leading total communications provider in Uganda, offering a broad range of services including fixed voice, mobile voice and data, dedicated circuits for data and internet, and broadband services. UTel is owned by the government of Uganda and was previously known as Uganda Telecom Limited (UTL). The company has undergone significant restructuring and rebranding efforts, with the current ownership structure being 60% held by the Uganda Ministry of Finance and 40% by the Uganda Ministry of ICT.

UTel provides various services such as mobile voice and data, broadband services, and data center services. It has also introduced innovative services like the "M-SENTE" mobile wallet service and the solar-powered hand-held mobile phone, "Kasana". Despite facing challenges, UTel continues to operate in the competitive Ugandan telecom market alongside other major players like MTN Uganda and Airtel Uganda.
