Mascom Wireless Proprietary Limited is Botswana's leading telecommunications provider, established in 1998. It is headquartered in Gaborone and has a significant market share, with over 1.5 million subscribers and a 54% market share. Mascom offers a wide range of services, including mobile internet via EDGE, 3G, 4G, and 4.5G, as well as Fiber To The Home (FTTH) internet services. In 2022, Mascom became the first mobile telecommunications company in Botswana to introduce 5G services in four locations around Gaborone.

The company has a strong focus on innovation, having introduced several groundbreaking services over the years. These include Kwik Recharge, a non-physical recharge method launched in 2003, and the first 100% EDGE-enabled network in Botswana in 2004. Mascom has also launched various other innovative products and services, such as Dynamic Discounting through MyZone in 2009 and the mobile money service MyZaka Mascom Money.

Mascom has made significant contributions to rural telecommunications, partnering with the Government of Botswana in the Nteletsa 2 project to provide coverage to 41 previously underserved villages. The project included the creation of Mascom Kitsong Centers, which offer basic services like internet access, recharges, and prepaid electricity, run by local entrepreneurs on a franchise basis.

Mascom's network coverage is extensive, reaching almost all corners of Botswana, making it a reliable option for both national and international connectivity. The company continues to invest in its network and IT infrastructure, with the inauguration of the Mascom Innovation Centre in Phakalane, Gaborone, which serves as the company's main technical center.
