Check device compatibilityTuvalu's mobile network is primarily provided by the Tuvalu Telecommunications Corporation (TTC), which is a state-owned enterprise. The country has a relatively small population, with mobile subscriber penetration at around 40% as of recent data. Historically, TTC has been the sole provider of telecommunication services in Tuvalu, holding a monopoly in the market. However, in 2012, an amendment to the Telecommunications Act paved the way for the possibility of licensing a second operator in the future.
TTC has been working to improve telecom services, which are heavily based on satellite technology. The corporation has signed deals with Kacific Broadband Satellite and Asia Broadcast Satellite (ABS) to enhance high-speed bandwidth capacity, particularly for schools, hospitals, and banks. These developments aim to improve internet access and mobile network services for the citizens of Tuvalu.
