LIME Saint Lucia was a mobile network operator in Saint Lucia that provided mobile data services, including GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) and EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution) services. The company was part of the LIME (Landline, Internet, Mobile, Entertainment) brand, which was owned by Cable & Wireless Communications. LIME operated in several Caribbean islands, including Saint Lucia, and was known for its mobile telecommunications services under the bmobile brand until it was rebranded as LIME in 2008.
LIME Saint Lucia offered a range of services, including international and domestic voice telephone services, data/IP services such as ADSL, Frame, or ISDN, and mobile/wireless services including 3G and 4G across various smartphone platforms like Samsung and Apple.
In 2015, Cable & Wireless Communications decided to adopt the brand name FLOW for its consumer-facing business, replacing the LIME name. This change was made to improve customer perception and service quality, as an independent study indicated that LIME's brand was associated with lackluster customer service and spotty service.
LIME Saint Lucia used a single GSM band for its wireless services, and users could check if their unlocked phones or devices would work with the network by referring to frequency check tables. The network was one of the two major cell phone service providers in Saint Lucia, alongside Digicel, and was considered to offer similar calling and texting services but with a slight edge in data services.
